King's Cup

I know, I know, I haven't written anything in a week. I think I'm just going to blame it on the new foreign kid, It's always the new foreign kid's fault. Now this blog entry might be a little selfish. I'm more or less writing this one so I can personally look back at it later and refresh my own memory, but I honestly believe It is my duty to spread the awesomeness that is King's Cup. Now I'm sure many of you are going "Nick, I've heard of that drinking game, and no I won't play until I'm drunk enough to have sex with you blahblahblah". But for those of you who haven't heard of said drinking game: I am about to unleash a fury of drunken fun all over your face. First, you need 2 key ingredients; people, and a location to throw down. Like some guy I can't remember always says "location is the key, location, location, location". This great philosopher was definitely talking about drinking games when he uttered those famous words. It is essential for you to find a perfect spot, void of any threats to your good times. Examples of these threats would be; unwelcome authority figures, glass or other fragile objects, cockblockers, and of course classical music. All these are the enemies of a good time. After you secure a quality location you need to find the right people. People are a necessity because if you find playing a drinking game by yourself amusing than your either to awkward to partake in group activities anyway, or possibly you're already drunk. Like some other famous dude said "life is the people around you" so get some people, hopefully of mixed sexes, in even numbers, and sit them down in your perfect drinking location. Now for the ingredients: Find/borrow/steal a deck of cards and massive quantities of alcohol. All this liquor probably has to be cold, so a storage device such as a fridge or cooler will also be needed. Try to get a lot of varieties when it comes to your booze. I'm a scotch or bourbon man myself but you're going to need supplies of hard liquor, chasers, mixed drinks, beer(duh), and even some girly cooler drinks, that's right Nick Hinton is telling you to get girly drinks. The more broad you are with your drinking choices are the better the game will be. Now take 1 glass for each person and fill them with their poison of choice. Take one more glass and place it in the center of the designated drinking area. Spread the cards in a circle around the empty glass, face down. Finally you are ready to begin the good times. Everyone sits around the designated drinking surface(d.d.s) and flips over one card. The person with the highest card will start the game off. Remove the face up cards from the d.d.s. Now the starter selects one card and flips it over following the instructions below (Now I know everyone uses their own rules, but these are the ones me and my friends use and they are in my opinion the best) If an Ace is flipped: Everyone takes a sip. if a 2 is flipped: The person who flipped the card gets to order one person to take 2 sips, or order 2 people to take one sip. a 3: The person gets to order one person to take 3 sips, 3 people to take one sip, or one person to take 2 sips and one person to take one, basically gets to distribute 3 sips. a 4: distribute 4 sips. a 5: distribute 5 sips. a 6: All guys take a sip. a 7: All ladies take a sip. a 8: Categories: Name a category, example: Cereal. You than go around the table naming cereals. The first person to say a cereal that was already said, or any person that takes longer than 3 seconds to name one has to take a drink. a 9: Never have I ever: You say the words "never have I ever" followed by a scenario or situation. Anyone who has been in that situation has to drink. Example: "Never have I ever, eaten chocolate syrup off someone" Than anyone who has eaten chocolate syrup off someone has to drink (like me!) a 10: Make a rule (this one is every one's favorite): It is exactly as it says it is. You make a rule that everyone must follow for the rest of the game, if at anytime someone is caught breaking the rule they must drink. Example: No one can swear. Anyone caught swearing must drink a Jack: Thumb master: You are the thumb master. Anytime during the game you may put your thumb on a body part or on the d.d.s. and everyone must follow, the last person to do so must take a drink. You are the thumb master until someone else flips a jack. a Queen: Waterfall: Everyone starts drinking and must continue drinking until the person to their left stops. Example: I flip a queen, everyone starts drinking, I stop, the person to my left stops, the person to his left keeps going than stops, the person to his left can now stop etc etc. a King: This is the name of the game. For the first 3 kings, when a king is flipped you must pour a third of your drink into the glass in the center of the cards. When the fourth and final king is flipped, the person who flipped it must drink the contents of the glass in the center in one "chug". I suggest you keep a copy of these rules around the d.d.s. at all times because as you may have guessed, the longer the game goes, the harder it is to remember the rules. Now that you've been taught the amazingness that is kings cup I must warn you. After you play this game regular, non-drunk, life may no longer satisfy your funness needs. Kings Cup: I owe ye so much.

I am Giving Away A Free Hat To The First Person To Comment On This Post!

Ok so for the past while now I've been working on a clothing project. Since I was a young boy I've been doodling a familiar phrase on the back of my notebooks while sitting in class, writing the same thing in different ways to impress girls, or just because I was sick of what the teacher was nagging me about in high school. I would sketch-out the phrase, add additional designs too it; sharp flames around the "O"'s or blue waves around the edges, then try and make a cute girl notice my artwork as a way to catch some of her attention that may otherwise be saved for a young male far more dapper than my teenaged self. Recently I found myself without a job and while interviewing I had to come up with a good answer to the clichéd question the person across the table often asks "What's your greatest weakness?" and WHAM! there I was the same nervous teen, scrambling to find an answer to impress someone enough to consider me for a position. Rather tha

What A G̶i̶r̶l̶ Wants, What A G̶i̶r̶l̶ Woman Needs

So much for my goal of writing a new piece every month... As always if I'm not providing you with enough reading material for your cellphone or content for during the morning commute please let me know and at the absolute very least I'll tell you to screw off one to one :) Anyways, in honour of the International Women in Music summit tomorrow I've become inspired by the wildly dramatic and often talked on differences between men and women. The fact that what is widely considered a materialistic and sham holiday celebrating couples love for one another is taking place at the initial point of writing this post only confirms that my topic today will be what varies between the two genders people start their lives out as on this earth. Now I've often been quoted saying that the female gender is the far superior sex, but it has never been clearer to me how true that statement really is. Men, a concept clearly with origins from Mars, are often considered generally ph

A Lousy Date With Superman

Here are some words that made their way out of the tips of my fingers and found themselves splattered onto the page arranged in a somewhat poetic fashion. A Lousy Date With Superman Big girl boots for a grown man's world Last year's fashion bought for her by someone else on sale While walking around the mall looking for Superman, Or atleast some boy of wonder to fly on in through the window and rescue her belief Of a colourful world where there's men made of steel ready to give her everything she thinks that loves supposed to be Educated only by rom coms and playlists from her Iphone She Spends all Friday night sitting in her room at home alone Daydreaming by moonlight of a superhero changing in the photobooth She's not sure exactly who it is she's dreaming of Will our caped crusader be next year's valentine? Will Clark Kent have heart shaped tattoo that reads "will you be mine"? Uh Oh! Looks like this poem is out of rhymes
